The ARx Vision Headset is a cutting-edge, AI-powered talking camera designed to enhance the lives of people who are blind or low vision. By connecting to your Android smartphone, this lightweight headset uses a free app to transform visual information such as newspaper articles, letters, and bus timetables, and more into clear audio.
How It Works
- Bone-Conduction Speakers: Transmit audio through vibrations on your cheekbones, leaving your ears open to hear environmental sounds like traffic, voices, and alarms.
- AI Assistant: Provides descriptions of the camera's view and answers your questions, such as "What are the vegetarian options on this menu?" or "Read the house numbers on this street."
- App Compatibility: Works with ARx AI and NaviLens apps (downloadable from the Google Play Store). Access a compatible version of Seeing AI by following the instructions on their website. To request the version of Seeing AI that supports the ARx headset, complete the form on the Seeing AI website.
- Adjusting Volume: The volume module has a rocker switch with two tactually distinct buttons to adjust audio volume, and houses the left bone-conduction speaker. Volume can also be adjusted from your Android smartphone.
